Audiovisual Technology:
In classrooms you could use a book on tape to teach a class such as in an English class. Some kids learn better when someone is reading to them instead of silently reading to themselves. This is a good technology to have in the classroom, but to be more up to date you can you internet audio instead. You can use this for more than just reading a book in to the class which can be very useful to a teacher and students.
Visual Technology:
You can use something such as broadcast video in the classroom which is known as television to most people. This is something to can keep the students interested in class and still get the topic being taught to them done. Although this can be boring to some you could use a newer technology such as internet broadcasts, these are faster and more up to date. You can simply log onto the internet and find a clip that you like that is more than likely more relevant in time to the students than a television broadcast. Having this in the classroom will help keep your students engaged in class and interested in what you are teaching them since you're using technologies that they know.

Ch 6
I would prefer to have more technologies in the classroom to have more interaction with the kids and things they are already used to using. Having an electronic whiteboard in the classroom, better known as a smartboard is a good way to get the kids involved in class. They are able to interact and touch the board as well as being able to use different colors and patters to write in to keep the kids attention during the class period. Another technology that you can use in the classroom to help the kids would be handhelds such as ipads or mini laptops. The kids can easily use these in the classroom and work at their own pace as well as being able to take them outside of the classroom. These are all reasons to have technology in the classroom to keep kids interested in class and not to mention keeping up with what the kids already know and use. By the kids already knowing how to use the technologies you are presenting to them will make it easier for you to teach and easier for them to use.
